HAPPY  2026!

A new year, a new breath, and a warm welcome to each of you—especially those who’ve recently joined. I’m deeply thankful for this growing gratitude community. . If you feel moved to share a thought or reflection, my inbox is always open, and I respond lovingly. And my books make wonderful gifts!
https://www.graceofgratitude.com/store/c2/Retail_%26_eBooks.html

As we enter 2026, I am sharing some superb books by other authors, music & meditations that I have let soak into my heart and soul this past year. I’m always about going forward on my spiritual path, and if you’re like me, you also wish to be inspired and growing and constantly learning. So, I invite you
to check them out. For the music and meditations suggested, you can search on YouTube to find them. Each item I’ve listed has helped me to become more illuminated and alive with joy and passion in 2025. Many of the books have inspired my Daily Gratitude Reflections, and have been quoted.

Please enjoy an affirmative prayer I wrote for all of us. For so many, 2025 brought extra challenges— opportunities to learn, to accept, and to stand strong in the shared values most of us have—of love, of compassion, of harmony, of peace, of kindness, and of wisdom. I strongly feel we, the people, are more united than we realize. And perhaps all that transpired in 2025 will help us learn this on deeper levels.
“All things are linked with one another, and this oneness is sacred.”

2026 Prayer

There is One Life, One Presence, One Love, moving through everything and everyone, stretching out to the farthest reaches of the universe upon universe. It is in the tiniest microcosms and in the vastest macrocosms. It is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent and omniactive. This Presence permeates all. It is
love, it is peace, it is plenty, it is harmony, unity, wellbeing, wisdom, caring and compassion.

I know that I am One with this Presence, and that all are one with this Presence.

So, I speak my word for all of us. I know that we, as humanity, are awakening to what has always been true: that we belong to one another, that we all arise from the same Source, and that love is the deepest law of our being. Peace prevails, harmony prevails, compassion does prevail, despite any appearances to the contrary.

We are absolutely connected and united as One and as the New Year unfolds, we stand stronger in this deep connection. We feel it, we know it, we are it! We are united in love.

And I easily release any and all attachment to how this awakening unfolds, trusting the intelligence of Life itself.

Thank you, Spirit, for your Life which is my life; for your Life which is in all and through all. I give great thanks for the Truth that is already so.

And so it is.

Deborah Perdue

I wish all of us a peaceful, harmonious year, filled with our dreams coming true, with health, joy, prosperity and peace prevailing everywhere.

NOVEMBER  NEWSLETTER

The Benefits of Acceptance
Happy November! It is almost hard to believe is 2025 whizzing by so fast. This month’s enews is about ACCEPTANCE. This has been a biggie for me. In the last few years, I have learned to accept the things I cannot change. And then, I discover that I gain much more inner peace and gratitude. So, I will share ways I know about to help you with acceptance in your life.
A profound and sacred way to be is to practice saying yes to what is, whatever that looks like. This is challenging, for sure. Yet, it brings blessed peace of mind to me when I engage in acceptance of life. Yes to situations I don’t really prefer. Yes to difficult people. Yes to rain, yes to snow, yes to perfect sunshiny weather. Yes to my emotions even if I wish I didn’t react in anger or hurt. Yes to knowing I don’t under- stand the mysteries we are presented with. Yes to faith.

I am deeply grateful for accepting what is in my life’s journey, and for saying yes, not a big NO, when challenges present themselves. I am thankful to be learning what works in my life, to find the gratitude in every situation, and to let all of the other petty stuff go.

SUGGESTIONS:

Great Books on Acceptance:
Books on acceptance include The Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown, as well as works based on Buddhist principles such as Tara Brach’s Radical Acceptance. Michael A. Singer wrote two fabulous books on surrender and letting go, which tie in perfectly to this theme: The Surrender Experiment and The Unthethered Soul.

SEPTEMBER  2025  NEWSLETTER

Growing in Gratitude by Loving Yourself
Again and again, I return to the truth that self-love is the key to being a truly loving person. I notice how often I can be hard on myself, holding myself to standards I would never expect of someone I cherish. At times, I still get down on myself for mistakes, or try to be “perfect”—something that simply isn’t possible as a human being.

When I embrace self-love—when I truly love me—I feel limitless and free. My peace of mind deepens, my prosperity and abundance expand, and both my body and emotions benefit. Loving myself naturally grows into gratitude. Loving myself allows me to love my friends and family more fully and freely.

What I know for sure is that the world is hungry for love—everyone needs more of it. And one of the most powerful ways to bring more love into the world is to begin with ourselves. I am grateful to see how, over the years, I have made great strides in this practice of self-love.

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”
Buddha

Here are some ideas to bolster your self-love:

SPEAK KINDLY TO YOURSELF letting
compassion replace criticism.

SET HEALTHY BOUNDARIES by saying yes to what uplifts you and no to what depletes you.

NOURISH YOUR BODY WITH LOVE--rest
well, move with joy, and eat what gives you energy and vitality.

GIVE YOURSELF THE GIFT OF TIME TO PLAY AND RELAX

MIRROR WORK

Mirror work, popularized by Louise Hay, is the daily practice of looking into your own eyes and speaking affirmations of love. It helps reframe negative thoughts, build confidence, and foster a more compassionate relationship with yourself.

WRITE YOURSELF A LOVE LETTER
Begin with Dear (your name) and write all the qualities you love and celebrate about yourself. Let it be long, detailed, and heartfelt—then read it weekly and add more as they come to mind. Remember, you are precious to Spirit, and you can even imagine what Spirit would say to you. Decorate your letter if you wish, and mail it to yourself for a beautiful reminder on the very day you may need it most.

AUGUST  2025  NEWSLETTER

Greetings! First of all, welcome to new subscribers. I’m so glad you are receiving my Daily Gratitude Reflections and once-a-month enewsletters. And I am very grateful for all who subscribe. I invite you to send me emails. I love to hear from each of you, and make sure to answer.

This enews is about ONENESS, really feeling our connection to Source Energy. Every single day, I enjoy my morning spiritual practice, and shore up my recognition that I am always connected,
supported and guided by a Higher Power which I call Spirit or the Divine Beloved. This power is not separate from me (or you). We can always be in connection, feeling our unity, and consciously raise our vibration if we’re just not feelin’ it at times. Here, I will share some tips and tools to permeate yourself with the oneness of the universe. If we are not feeling this, it is we who moved away. Spirit is closer to us than our hands and feet, nearer than the very breath we breathe as a passage in the Bible proclaims.

I completely believe that if we feel connected with the Divine, then gratitude comes very naturally. At least, it does for me.

“All things are linked with one another, and this oneness is sacred.”
Thich Nat Hanh
TIPS AND TOOLS TO FEEL CONNECTION & ONENESS:

Try Daily Meditation, even for just 5 minutes. And meditation can be done in different ways than you may think about: walking meditation, or even meditating while doing chores. There is no right or wrong, eventually extend the time longer if it feels good to you.

Join a meditation group. I have felt many times the joined power of meditation is mighty.

Enjoy quiet nature walks. If you look around while in the silence, you can feel our sacred connection with plants, trees and all creatures of this earth.

Contemplative reading. Read inspiring passages about interconnection and harmony. Rumi, Mary Oliver, the Tao Te Ching are a few. Be sure to read slowly, and then take time to ponder their wisdom.

Read spiritual books, perhaps a few pages each day. Here are a few that are amazingly powerful. The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer,
A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle and Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer

Listen to meditations on Oneness. Download a free app called Insight Timer or explore YouTube for thousands of choices.

Immerse yourself in spiritual music. Let it instill the feeling of Oneness in you. Look up sacred music on YouTube. Often I listen to Deep Theta by Steven Halpern when meditating.

Attend silent retreats, kirtan chanting, or sacred circles.
Gratitude Practice: Give thanks to the invisible web of support around you (sun, water, soil, sky).

Sacred Pause: At random moments, pause. Feel the moment. Let it be enough.

Service: Helping others with compassion often brings a sense of unity.

Feeling the oneness of life is not about transcending reality—it’s about entering it fully. The sacred is not distant; it pulses in your breath, the breeze on your skin, and the stillness behind your thoughts. Take time each day to appreciate the miracle of life.

Oneness Reflection

“The wisdom and beauty of Infinite Love & Gratitude is all around you and within you, in the essence of your soul’s longing
to experience life.”
Darren Weissman

Everywhere I look is a part of me, and I am a part of everything too.

If I ever feel alone or lonely, I can take comfort in this fact, and shift to joy and peace.

I am thankful, so thankful, for connection,
for unity, for the vast and infinite Oneness that we are each an essential, precious, unique part of.

For me, it doesn’t get much better than realizing how true this is, and reminding myself through the power of constant appreciation.

JU LY  2025   NEWSLETTER

Hi everyone! First of all, welcome to new subscribers. I’m grateful that you are receiving my Daily Gratitude Reflections and Enewsletters.

This month’s topic is FREEDOM since Independence Day is right around the corner in the U.S. It seems more important than ever to savor all the freedoms we have at this time in history. Let Freedom Ring is a powerful idea, first spoken in Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. It symbolizes the pursuit of freedom, equality, and justice for all.

What I know for sure is that freedom comes from within. There are people who were held captive and seemingly not free, yet refused to be prisoners in their own minds, and have made monumental contributions to humankind. A few of these heroes come to mind: Nelson Mandala, the Dalai Lama, and Victor Frankl. Ann Frank too, despite the horrors she faced in hiding, is remembered for her enduring optimism and faith in humanity. One of her most poignant quotes include: “In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.” All of the people mentioned maintained their optimism and faith and by sharing, give me and others hope too.

Celebrating Freedom

How grateful I am to be truly free!

I celebrate freedom in so many ways in my life: freedom to express myself; the freedom to live life how I want to live it; freedom to enjoy inner peace no matter what; freedom to be joyful, to be lighthearted, to be silly; freedom to love and care and lavish my love toward others and to me; freedom to stay strong in my spiritual beliefs, that help me to navigate unknown territories; freedom to stretch my boundaries and to explore . . .

Most of all, I appreciate my free will that is God-given. I am free to make choices in every minute of my life.

And when it appears I am not as free as I would like, I affirm my absolute independence and
I am thankful.

 Deborah Perdue

“The only real prison is fear, and the only real freedom is freedom from fear.”
Aung San Suu Kyi

There are many instances of people incarcerated who used the time to educate themselves and better themselves while in prison.

Because we truly are the captains of our ships, we can choose to be scared and fearful, or take a higher road realizing that we can’t be chained because each of us is autonomous and at choice in every moment. I find this so comforting.
When I choose to be grateful, no matter the challenges I not only help myself, I help others by showing a way to more freedom.

In 2025, I find the news very troubling when I listen to it. It seems that our freedoms are
being threatened. I face that fact, and then turn off the TV and use some of my spiritual tools to offset feeling trapped. There are Positive News Apps that show all the good going on all over the world; meditation and prayer time always help lift my mood, and beautiful music also soothes my soul. Walks in nature heal me.
Talking to caring friends help. Taking action like participating in political rallies helps me feel more free and not alone.

JUNE 2025 NEWSLETTER

Hi everyone! First of all, welcome to new subscribers. I’m so glad you are receiving my Daily Gratitude Reflections and once-a-month enewsletters. This enews is about JOY. (Yes, for those who are really paying attention, April’s topic was also about Joy. I believe we can’t ever have enough.) And I know Gratitude and Joy are soul sisters! Joy and gratitude are so closely related. If I feel joy, I am grateful for whatever prompted it. If I feel gratitude, I am most likely feeling happy. And Joy is an inside job. If you are feeling sadness instead of joy, please reply and let me know. We can have a chat, and I might have some answers and suggestions to help and guide you. I would love to hear from you.

Recently, I finished facilitating a Book Study Group using a deep and wonderful book Living with Joy by Sanaya Roman. We all found ways to expand joy in our lives. I’ll share some of my favorite delightful affirmations from the book. I highly recommend her book. Also, in May, I attended a lovely workshop by Lara Brezezinski, another CSL practitioner. Her workshop was called Igniting Deep Joy from Within, How to Cultivate a Life of Joy. She is a joy enthusiast, dedicated to spreading more joy in the world. I noticed that the rest of the day, I felt light, airy and filled with more joy and happiness.

Blossoming in Joy

I am so thankful for a profusion of flowers in May. If the flowers bloom for their own joy, as Oscar Wilde proclaims, then their joy expands as lots of us so appreciate their beauty and flamboyance. They know exactly when to flower, and where I live, each morning brings a delightful new surprise blossom.

We can also bloom in joy! And when we do, filled with exuberance and our own unique beauty, we spread more love and joy in the world. What a gift.

I am extremely grateful for the seasons of nature, for happiness and smiles, and for our own journeys towards more joy, harmony and peace.

JOY AFFIRMATIONS

Affirmations are very powerful. You can post them places you can see them daily and as you keep saying them, you will find they can indeed come true.
Here are some I have created just for you:

Joy is an inside job. I own it and I enjoy it.

So grateful for the all of the abundant joys of life. I reflect on them every day, and savor each one.

As I grow in joy and gratitude, I bless the world with my thoughts and actions.

I joyfully let go of anything not serving me.
It’s so easy.

From Sanaya Romans’ book:

I laugh and play. I have a smile in my heart.

My heart is like a sun that nurtures all life
with love.

I open to receive more love, joy and abundance.

Acting As If..

A few years back, I discovered another powerful gratitude practice. This goes above and beyond being grateful for what IS in your life, in the present moment. For several years, I have been applying this new idea in my life with great results. What it involves is writing a letter to Spirit or Your Higher Power, not only expressing thankfulness for the blessings in your life right now, also making sure
to include writing about what you are thankful for in the future, as if it has already happened. It is affirming to know that Spirit is listening, and watching things come to pass as imagined and written down. This gratitude practice definitely works!

Recently, I shared this practice with a friend who was fretting in advance about a future move to another place. She listened to me, and tried it, and feels much more peace about the move. And thanked me. I have told many others about writing about future things to be thankful for, and she is the one person I know about who tried it and feels completely grateful to have learned about it. Give it a try.

“Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”
Melody Beattie

In a search on amazon, I tried to find the author whose book I read that promoted this idea. I was unable to find her, yet I found out that there are many journals and books promoting being grateful in advance. You don’t really need a book though. Just a pen and paper. When I first heard the idea, I wrote a new letter every single day!
Now I write a letter about once a week, and read it almost every morning to let it sink in deeper. The author I read started her letters with “Dear CSO” (Chief Spiritual Operator). That makes me smile.

A similar idea is to make a Vision Board that you can look at all the time. Create it with pictures
of things you would like to manifest in your life, using magazine or web pictures or you can even draw pictures. On your Vision Board, you could put, for example, travel photos to faraway lands (if that tickles your fancy); a new partner/love in your life, or whatever you imagine for yourself! Once, when I was wishing to lose weight, I used a woman in a yoga pose with a body I really liked, and placed my own head on it instead of hers. I looked at her every day, and envisioned myself that way, and was able to lose weight. You could put qualities you would like more of in your life, such as Joy or Inner Peace. If it’s self love, you could put a picture of a person hugging him or her self, for instance. A Vision Board is a visual letter to the Universe, showing what you would like to see down the road. Be creative and have fun!

“Look closely at the present you are constructing; it should look like the future you are dreaming.”

How completely grateful I am to watch what I am dreaming come to fruition.

There is such power in knowing we can manifest what we desire, if we don’t hang it up with conflicting thoughts, or a belief
that we don’t deserve.

I firmly believe in the potential of visualizing and visioning, and I delight in watching
as Life says an enthusiastic YES!

Hi everyone! This enews is about JOY. Keeping joy in your life, adding joy to your life, and spreading more joy in the world. I feel like we could all use more joy right about now. So, I will share ways I know about to help you uncover more joy and happiness in your life, if you are having a hard time.
Joy is closely related to my favorite subject, gratitude. When we appreciate our lives, and all of the blessings we have, naturally we feel good and joy springs up into our hearts. We can smile and laugh so much easier. I feel fortunate to be an optimistic person by nature, and that helps me all the time with my joy levels. Even if you’re pessimistic by nature or sad, there are still things you can do to make yourself feel better. Check out the Joy Practices below.
Sometimes something annoying happens in my life, and I let it get to me. (A few examples: a grumpy person I talk to; bots who are so hard to communicate with; an unexpected bill) I can return to more joy and happiness by listening to music I love, stopping to meditate; enjoying beautiful artwork; going into nature; and/or talking to an upbeat friend who will listen and not try to fix anything. Recounting my favorite reasons for gratitude always brings my spirits up again too.

Blissed and Blessed

I just can’t be in a bad mood when feeling grateful. It’s impossible, really. I’ve had someone challenge me in a Gratitude Workshop I facilitated when I stated that one can’t be unhappy or mad when thankful. She disagreed emphatically. In retrospect, I wish I had handed her my Grace of Gratitude Journal for her to write in regularly, and then checked in with her later. :)

For me, gratitude transforms my life in amazing, beneficial ways! I started this practice in 2012 and have been going strong ever since.

I am grateful for my happy, joyful heart! And for sharing the superpower of gratitude with others.
May it transform your life as it has mine.

Thank you, Universe, for providing infinite opportunities to appreciate!

Deborah Perdue, 6/26/24

MARCH   2025   NEWSLETTER

Happy Spring to those in the Western Hemisphere!

The skies have been grey with lots of rain this winter here in Oregon. We even had some late snow in Feburary too. Now, I’m SO grateful to hear frogs croaking and singing each night in our pond. I am in love with the frogs in our pond! They are the happy announcers of Spring almost here! To see signs of Spring everywhere, to feel more warmth, and enjoy the sunshine is bliss.

The focus for this March newsletter is Recharging Our Gratitude Practices. When the outside world is getting me down, there is no better cure than to start recounting what I am thankful for in my life.
Actually, I do this every single morning, in my prayer and meditation time, and in the evening before I go to bed too. Being grateful always sets a positive, uplifting tone in my heart and soul. I’ve listed some ways we can amplify gratitude in our lives, to let it be a Superpower.

BASK IN NATURE!

I am blessed to be living in the forest in Oregon.
It gives me a chance to walk in nature, to immerse myself in it every single day. Taking a Gratitude Stroll is highly recommended. Be quiet and with every step, feel the gratitude for beautiful nature and for life in general! And if
you aren’t blessed to live right in nature, go to a city park to enjoy the beauty all around.

MEDITATION

There are some beautiful gratitude meditations: Here are a couple I highly recommend:

GRATITUDE PRACTICE

Write in a Gratitude Journal –
www.graceofgratitude.com
(truly gorgeous journals!)
Beginners: start out by listing 5 things you are grateful for every day. Do this for 40 days and your life will improve dramatically. Then, keep going after the 40 days so it becomes a beneficial habit. If you already write in a journal, consider writing paragraphs about each thing, rather than making a short list.
I celebrate and revel in the coming of spring!
Nature dances with bright promise as she wakes from winter slumber
and begins parading her new green grass and colorful blossoms again.
As spring awakens, the flora and the fauna, my heart and spirit awaken to the new--

to whatever is about to come my way, and I dance with joy for all the new beginnings within and all around me.

Love and Light, Deborah

OUR GRATITUDE
PRACTICE

To be in a grateful state of mind helps in so many
ways: health-wise, joy-wise, sharing positivity with others. It helps our emotional health as well as our physical health. I have found through many years of experience that I just cannot be stressed out if I’m counting my blessings.

LISTEN TO MUSIC

There are many songs about being thankful. Karen Drucker is the queen of gratitude. These three songs will uplift you, I promise:

FEBRUARY  2025 NEWSLETTER

Some of you may have noticed I didn’t send out a newsletter in January. Life definitely got in the way. December landed my husband in the hospital twice, and I’m very grateful to report that he is doing great again. The second time he was able to go home was on my birthday 12-31-24, and I just couldn’t get organized enough to send out a January offering. So, here we are in February!

The focus for this February newsletter is Recharging Our Spiritual Batteries. When the outside world is getting me down, it is so important to refuel my connection with the Divine Beloved. Actually, I do this every single morning, in my prayer and meditation time. I can toss and turn in the night, and then when I spend at least an hour in the morning with practices that replenish my heart and soul, it sets a positive, uplifting tone for the day. Of course, I admit life tends to get in the way and I may forget my connection to All That Is, and then, I have to recalibrate again. I am very grateful for the tools in my spiritual tool box, some which I will share here, with links too.

COMMUNITY

Attend gatherings with like-minded people, whether in person or on zoom. This could be a church or synagogue, a meditation group, or any religion persuasion. I am in love with the community I am a part of, the Centers for
Spiritual Living (CSL.org) Every week, I visit on Sundays, and the service always inspires me, and I also get my quota of hugs for the week.

Spiritual classes. Take a class on zoom or in person. There you will get to know others on a deep level. I teach classes and this is very fulfilling for me and all who attend. Also, Tai Chi, yoga, dance and other movement classes can uplift us.

Social media. Besides connecting with friends, one can find wonderful. spiritual groups to connect with too.

GRATITUDE PRACTICE

Being grateful morning, noon and night amplifies the good in your life. Journaling is very potent.

Free Grace of Gratitude Journal to first 5 who reply. (U.S. only due to shipping costs overseas)

OUR SPIRITUAL BATTERIES

I find that as I spiritual recharge, I go into a vibration of All Is Well and my vibration stays high. We can be spiritual warriors in trying times, and stay in light and love. I feel that is our most important job right now.

MUSIC

Of course, your own taste will guide you to listen to music that speaks to your heart and soul. YouTube offers many many possibilites. A few personal favorites of mine are anything by Karen Drucker, Faith Rivera, Snatam Kaur, and Sam
Garrett & Mollie Mendoza. I listen to instrumental Theta music by Steven Halpern in my prayer time, which always raises my vibration.

Here’s a current favorite of mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=- 5M6iNpSfMM&list=RD-5M6iNpSfMM&start_ radio=1

MEDITATION

If you don’t meditate, try starting for just 5 minutes a day. Sitting still and feeling the connection you have (because we all have it) to Spirit or your Higher Power. There are many books on meditation. And if you already are a dedicated meditator, kudos!

I highly recommend a phone app, Insight Timer. It is free, and contains a vast library of offerings for the spiritually minded. Here is just one I love from YouTube and listen to whenever I’m feeling a bit down and consistently raises my spirit:

5 minute All Is Well meditation by Gabby Bernstein: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgjpZuGvNuA

SPIRITUAL BOOKS

One thing I love about life is that the possibilties are endless! There are zillions of spiritual books to uplift you. Here are some authors I have particularly resonated with: Wayne Dyer, Thich Nat Hanh, Florence Scoval Shinn, Gabrielle Bernstein, Michael A. Singer, Michael B. Beckwith, Steven Charleston and Mirabai Starr.
Happy February to my Gratitude Tribe. Keep Those Spiritual Batteries Recharged!
The world needs us!
Love and Light, Deborah, Gratitude Gal
