MARCH   2026   ENEWS

How thankful I am for each of you, my gratitude tribe. I welcome newcomers, and trust you will enjoy this enewsletter if it is your first time receiving one from me. (The Superpower of Gratitude Enews come out every 2 months.) Remember that I welcome all comments and do lovingly answer each one.

Because of the war begun in Iran last weekend, I am going to focus on Peace as the topic. I am always against war, no matter who the U.S. president is at the time. This time is no exception. There has to be a better way to resolve conflicts than killing, often innocent families. I was too young to protest about the Vietnam war, though my mother did. I was very inspired and heartened when Minnesotans when out in freezing cold day after day to protest ICE occupation. I witness that the protesters do make a difference.

Yesterday, at the Center for Spiritual Living that I attend, it was my turn to be the Pulpit Practitioner. As part of what I presented, I read the song lyrics of ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon, which I have posted below. The topic for the CSLs this week was about Collective Imagination. I chose it before I even knew about the bombing of Iran. And it became sadly even more timely to share it by the end of the week. Whenever I hear the song, I always get tears in my eyes and I did when I recited it to the congregation.

FINDING PEACE WITHIN

I firmly believe that as we practice peace within we can and do affect the outside world. We sing a closing Peace song almost every Sunday at the CSLs I have attended. “Let peace begin with me.” We might feel overwhelmed and helpless about affecting the chance for world peace, yet we are always at choice and can become more loving, peaceful people. And I know we can affect others by our living example.

Here are some of the ways I have found that can help with a daily peace practice.

MEDITATION

Recentering myself every morning helps me immeasurably. Feeling the serenity that I can always find within myself helps me broadcast more peace into the world. I often listen to centering music and then contemplate a mantra for example, Be Still and Know, or any that helps my peaceful vibe as I am in the Silence. I also listen to guided meditations on peace. Here are a couple meditations I recommend.

GRATITUDE

Let’s not forget to be grateful. Today I am Incredibly thankful for the high vibrations of love, peace and joy washing over my spirit, mind and body. Thank you, Life!

“You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one.” John Lennon

IMAGINE

Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today, ah
Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace, you
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world, you
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one.
One of the things I especially love so much about this song is how Lennon speaks of the world living as one. Will that be possible in my lifetime? I pray it will be. I am positive that we are so much more alike then different. What if we found other ways of dealing with each other than killing? I don’t pretend to know the answers, and I continue to Pray Peace for myself and the whole world every single day.
